Butterfly Roof TM
PowerPod’s solar butterfly roof generates electricity, hot water and compliments. As you can see, this configuration allows windows to be placed up to ten feet high, bringing in lots of warm southern sun in wintertime. (Conversely, the roof’s sizeable overhangs keeps things cool in summer.)
Other advantages: high ceilings without excessive volume, lovely northern light and a center trough that’s ideal for rainwater collection.
Finally, the butterfly’s asymmetrical pitch makes the solar collection system almost invisible from ground level.
Gable Roof
The Gable configuration is designed for a) sites that permit an east-west orientation, exposing a long wall to southern skies for optimal solar collection, b) owners who prefer a traditional roofline, c) all of the above.
Shed Roof
The low, compact and unobtrusive Shed configuration is designed to blend into its surroundings. Quiet as it may be, however, the Shed is outfitted with a solar curtain wall that delivers outstanding energy efficiency.
