Modular Building
Many of today’s homes include products that are factory made.
Modular homes are a simple extension of this practice using the factory
setting to add quality, dependability, standardization, and improved
performance to the typical site-construction process. PowerHouse
homes are assembled from a limited number of modular building blocks
that can be configured to address a wide variety of building sites.
Better
Quality by Design
Because modular home factories ship to many locations
they must comply with national, state and local building codes in
the design and construction process. They also must be structurally
designed to support over-the-road transport at 55 mph and the final
placement using a crane.
Better Quality Construction
By using assembly line techniques, better
tools, and precision jigs, modular homes are built as they were designed
without less potential for construction errors. The quality of the
assembly line is monitored by a state-approved third-party inspection
agency to ensure compliance with the building codes. Finally, material
defects are minimized because the homes are built in climate-controlled
conditions protecting the materials and homes from water damage or
freezing before the assembly process is completed.
Dependable and
Shorter Delivery Schedule
Because of the climate-controlled environment,
modular home construction occurs year-round during all types of weather
conditions that would delay on-site construction. Many construction
workers would prefer to work under these conditions. |
